written during the 2007-2008 academic year.
The award will be announced at the Studies in Women and Gender graduation ceremony.
ZORA NEALE HURSTON AWARD
for the best graduate essay focused on women or gender
written during the 2007-2008 academic year.
The deadline for submission is Thursday, May 1, 2008
Both awards carry a cash prize.
Students may submit their own work or a faculty member may submit outstanding papers. A student need not be a Studies in Women and Gender major or minor to be eligible.
Please be sure to include a title page with your name, course number, and semester.
On a separate sheet of paper , please provide the following information: Name, last 4 digits of your ID Number, Local & Permanent Address, Phone Number, and Email Address.
There is a minimum page requirement of 25 pages.
Please submit the paper electronically to swaguva@virginia.edu . If you would like to submit the paper in person, please bring four copies to the SWAG office, located in 227 Minor Hall.
