The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in the field of biological chemistry, appointment beginning August 25, 2009. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field and post-doctoral experience are required. Candidates must possess a strong record of innovative research, the potential for establishing an active and highly visible research program, and demonstrate an interest in and commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests in chemical biology, bioanalytical, biophysical, or theoretical and computational biophysics, including the areas of chemical genetics, and proteomics.
