First Year Late Stay Application

As stated in the Terms and Conditions of Residence, students in First Year areas (Alderman Road, Gooch/Dillard and McCormick Road) are required to move out of on-Grounds Housing within 24 hours of your last exam or by noon on Saturday, May 10, 2014, whichever comes first. If you need to stay after May 10, 2014, please fill out the information below regarding your Late Stay request. A reply will be sent to you via email regarding the decision of this request. If the reason for your request does not fall within the scope of the listed reasons, your request to stay late will not be approved.

Students in Upperclass Areas, including residential colleges: You are pre-approved. Please contact your Senior Resident for instructions on obtaining a Late Stay door tag.

First Year students who qualify as Late Stays will be required to move into temporary housing in Woody on Monday, May 12, 2014, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.

Please note that all approved students will be required to pay $25 for every night that they stay or have belongings in a First Year housing room after noon on May 10, 2014.

Students with scheduled examinations for a Spring Semester Course.
       (Class professor must email petters@virginia.edu confirming required dates.
       A fee of $25 per night will be charged.)


Students living in on-Grounds Housing for Summer Session I courses.
       (Requires paid Summer Session Housing reservation.
       A fee of $25 per night will be charged.)


Athletic team members required to stay for participation with their sport.
       (The department requesting your stay must provide a list of names.
       Please list the sport played in the comments box below.
       A fee of $25 per night will be charged.)


Resident Staff in First Year area.
       (Requires approval by Dean Petters.)
