Professor Hunt has recently won the Human Proteome Organization Distinguished
Achievement Award in Proteomics. The Hunt Research Group has developed
new instrumentation and techniques in mass spectrometry which will have
a large impact in proteomics, biomarker discovery, stem cell research
and other fields where identifying complex mixtures of intact proteins
is critical. Their technology is the core of two patent applications
licensed by Thermo Electron Corporation. Additional research by
the Hunt group in the area of peptide-based immunotherapy holds promise
for cancer therapies (more in Medical
