Engineering Physics at UVa The graduate program in Engineering Physics (Applied Physics) was established at the University of Virginia in 1952. It was the earliest Ph.D. granting program in the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS). It is a research oriented program that offers the Ph.D. degree, the Master's of Science (MS) degree and the non-thesis Master's of Engineering Physics (ME) degree. The Engineering Physics Program operates under the auspices of the School of Engineering and Graduate Sciences and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, through the department of Physics. There are about 20 faculty members participating in the program, and approximately 20-30 graduate students at any time in the program. |
