Students receiving education benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs must make application to UREG (Office of the University Registrar) at the beginning of each academic year. We only verify current student status to the VA; the student is responsible for making application for benefits directly with the VA. The nearest Department of Veterans Affairs office is at 210 Franklin Road SW, Roanoke VA 24011-2299 (800/827-1000).

To ensure continuity of benefits, it is imperative that students complete Final Registration and course selection in a timely manner. Changes in full- or part-time status should be reported immediately to UREG (Office of the University Registrar), Customer Service at 434/924-4122 or registrar@virginia.edu.

University students who are in the military reserves or the National Guard of the United States who are called to active duty after the beginning of a semester or summer session should consult the University's policy on Active Duty in the Military.
